Candles by Victoria - 3rd Order Scent Shot Impressions

This was my 2^nd half of my Third Order (All my Scent Shots).  I loved almost all of the scents; I did so good choosing scents this go round.  Of course they were all recommendations from all the lovely people on the CBV Message Boards! Thanks! =)  I had a hard time doing a rating system because I wanted to give almost everything a minimum of four stars because they were so amazing!!  Even though I probably would have given more 5 stars....I like to designate those for my absolute top favorites!!  These first impressions are strictly on cold sniff only. 

 

The scents are listed under the categories they are found at on the CBV Browser (Which is amazing I might add -- A fantastic way to keep all the scents you want to try organized):

FRUITY

Birds of Paradise:  Did not receive this one…I ordered it but It wasn’t in my box =(  Victoria promptly took care of it and I have it coming in my next order, yay!!  Fantastic customer service!!

Blueberry Patch:  This one is such a funky color…I thought it would be blue.  It looks like a very pale moss green with a yellow ring around the edge.  I think it smells like straight up blueberry…but I guess the color is throwing me off.  LOL, it’s good.  I like it better than Blueberry Cheesecake, it’s not so intense.

Blushing Peaches:  FANTASTIC!!  The only other peach scent I have tried was Peaches N Cream, and it was not a favorite, but this one is just sooooo good.  I can smell the Strawberry, Peach, and Vanilla.  It’s awesome.  I would love Melissa to make soap in this! =)

Raspberry Violet:  I was a little worried about this one because I’m not a huge floral fan I didn’t think, but this one is really pretty!!  It’s a perfect combination of Raspberry & Violet.  It’s light, fruity, and a little floral.  It gets a lot of love on the Message Board…I can see why!

Lemon Vanilla:  Exactly like it’s described….straight up Lemon with a splash of vanilla.  I like it better than Lemon Pound Cake.  That’s the only two lemon scents I have tried so far.  I know I definitely want to try more!

Poisoned Apple:  This one got recommended to me a lot because of how much I loved Enchanted Apple.  I guess this is like the evil version of Enchanted Apple LOL.  I can smell the tart green apples with a little kick.  It’s really good…but I prefer Enchanted Apple between the two.

Black Cherry:  (Free Scent Shot) – I tend to stay away from Grape/Cherry scented or flavored anything.  That includes drinks or candy too because it always reminds me of medicines.  This one is actually not bad.  It reminds me of just a cherry candy.  If you like Cherry Scents I’d tell you to go for this one!

FLORAL

Chantilly Lace:  This one is very floral and musky.  I heard someone describe it as smelling like those little decorative soaps…which maybe it does, I’m not sure what those smell like.  It does kind of smell like soap, or a floral perfume.  It’s nice…but I’m still undecided on this one.  My sister fell in love with this scent and tried to steal it from me! =)

Cleopatra's Closet:  I totally could not remember what to expect from this one and I LOVE it.  It smells sweet, pretty, & girly all in one.  The first scent that stood out was a powdery one with a light floral note…but still sweet.  I can also smell a slight musky, vanilla note.

Shamrock Kiss:  This might be my favorite new scent out of this order…it’s sooooo good.  It’s under floral fragrances, but to me it smells a lot more clean and fruity.  I can smell the apples and it is just awesome!

Sophie Belle:  This smells sooooooo good.  A lot of people compare it to Bella Swan I think? It smells sweet and floral…like a nice perfume.  Not sure what else to say about this one…

TROPICAL

White Nectarine & Pink Coral:  Holy Cow….Why did I wait so long to try this one???  This is amazing.  I want it in a soap, shampoo, perfume, lotion….anything, I don’t care.  I immediately smell peaches and other fruits.  Everyone says this smells like a shampoo and it so does!  Might be my favorite scent EVER!

Jimmy Buffet:   This one is pretty good…smells exactly like pineapple & coconut to me.  The scent description said Pina Colada and I think that’s more what it smells like than coconut.  It’s a different kind of tropical than the other ones I have, so that’s awesome!

PERFUME/COLOGNE

Heavenly Type:  Not my favorite perfume one ever, but I still like it.  Smells like citrus and floral all mixed up together.  I think I smell violet?

Vanilla Sugar:  This might be my new favorite vanilla scent…or maybe tied with Vanilla Bean Noel.  This one smells the most like plain vanilla that I have tried so far, and that was what I was looking for.  Very pleased with this scent!   I think it will be a light scent thrower.

FRESH/CLEAN

Clean Cotton:  I just cannot decide what Clean/fresh fragrance is my favorite.  Every time I think I have a fav, I smell a new one that I just fall in love with.  It smells similar to clothesline fresh and all those, but I think I like this one the most out of the laundry/detergent smelling ones!  Very good, you should definitely try if you like this scent category!

Mango Tango: MMMMMMM OMG!  Love this one!  This one probably just shot to the top of my favorites in the Clean/Fresh Scents.  It smells extremely clean, but that’s not the only thing you smell.  I can smell the various fruits, and I can also smell something a tad bit floral and green.  I’ve never tried the Gain fabric softener in this…but I want too now!

HOUSE BLENDS

Kimono Silk:  This one is so interesting and hard for me to describe.  It smells a little bit floral to me, but the fruits mix together with it just perfectly!  When I smell the bottom of it, it smells green and fresh.  I really like this one…everyone needs to try it!

Tokyo Spring:  Just when I think I find a new favorite in this order, I come across more ones I am in instant love with!  This smells so fresh and good, and hard to describe.  It says it has grapefruit, melons, rose, lotus blossoms, & lily of the valley in it…along with bamboo and white musk.  I don’t know if I smell any of those or all of those.  It’s a beautiful blend.  I think I smell the melon scent the most.  AWESOME!

Candles by Victoria - First CANDLE Experience & Order

 

I was so happy to place my 3^rd and biggest order from Candles by Victoria.  I loved almost all the scents; I did so good choosing scents this go round.  Of course they were all based on the wonderful recommendations I have received on the Message Boards. 

I ordered mostly Scent Shots, but this time I knew I wanted to try an actual Candle.  Up until this order I have only ordered Scent Shots because I wanted to find some great scents for Candles.  I did not want to risk ordering a Candle in an unknown scent, and end up not liking it so much.  For this order I chose to get Four Mini Candles, two of the 8 Ounce Candles, and one of the 9 Ounce Candles.  They come packaged very nice and secure!!  There is no way they are going to break...so you do not have to worry!! 

Mini Candles:  Pearberry Fun, Best Friends, Bella Swan, & DKNY Delicious

(Note:  I’ve reviewed all of these in my last order review blog post.  The only one that smells a little different from the Scent Shots is DKNY Delicious.  It does not smell like the perfume to me like the Scent Shot did.  I can smell more of the Cucumber and “green” notes in it.  It’s still nice). 

8 Ounce Candles:  Tiffany D & Enchanted Apple

(Note:  I’ve reviewed both of these in my last order review blog post.  Tiffany D is amazing!  This Enchanted Apple is so different from my Scent Shot….It smells like a bakery apple or like cinnamon apples this time.  I’m wondering if I just got a different mixture, or possibly it was a scent mix up)?

9 Ounce:  Sexy in Stilettos

(Note:  This is probably my favorite style of jar and maybe my favorite scent!!  I love how it says “mason” on the back of this jar and they stack up nicely).

Burn Experience:  I was so ready to burn this candle right HAHA!!  =)  I trimmed my wicks to about ¼ of an inch and made sure I burned them at a time where I had enough time to burn them around 4 hours so they could reach their full melt pool.  It came around the 4 hour mark on my Mini Candle and it was no where near the edges.  I blew it out…trimmed the wicks…and lit it right back up.  Still wasn’t burning to the edge.  I decided to use the method of wrapping aluminum foil around the top of the Candle and it worked like a charm.  After that initial burn I had no further problems.  It burned cleanly and smelled nice.  I LOVE CANDLES BY VICTORIA!!!!!  

Candles by Victoria Scent of the Day - Fruit Loops

This was one of the scents I was most excited to get because of the name and what everyone was saying about it on the Candles By Victoria Message Boards.  It is exactly like everyone has described!!  If you want to know what this smells like stick your head in a box of Fruit Loops.  It’s dead on!!  You can smell the sugary sweetness, and each of the different scents of the different colored Fruit Loops.  It makes me very hungry!! LOL

RATING:  4.5 STARS

I will probably get this in a bigger candle at some point because it is such a fun scent!!  Even hours after turning my warmer off I could still smell the scent strongly….so good!! =)

I would really like to get the CBV Comfort Candle in Fruit Loop Explosion (Found on page 17 on the CBV Website under the “Candle” tab).  They are $16.75 for a 16 ounce bowl.  Completely worth it, especially when you look at how long it takes to make these!  The creativity on these candles is out of this world!!

Candles by Victoria Scent of the Day - Blueberry Cheesecake

I have watched many of Lepooke’s videos on YouTube where she just raved about Blueberry Cheesecake, so I knew I had to get this one for sure!  It’s found in the Bakery Category.  It is very strong and smells very sweet and creamy.  I instantly loved this scent and it seemed to change a little bit each time I smelled it.  I was a little worried that the sweetness might be a little bit overpowering when melted….but I was completely wrong!  It was AWESOME, even better melting than on the cold smell.  It smells so tasty!  I really want to try another one of Victoria’s Blueberry scents now!  Side Note:  I really didn't smell any of the buttery rich notes of the graham cracker crust, which is okay with me.  I am not sure how I would like buttery notes just yet. 

RATING:  4.5 STARS

I really want to get this one in a Sweet Treat Candle.  It’s only $14.00 and comes in an awesome 12 ounce tumbler.  This can be found on page 18 of the Candles by Victoria Website under the “Candle” tab.

Candles by Victoria Scent of the Day - DKNY Delicious

MMMM….This one smells so good.  This is described as a fresh and well-balanced dupe of the perfume by the same name.  It has top notes of apple, cucumber, and yuzu.  It is followed by middle notes of magnolia, tuberose, lily of the valley, and fresh cut roses with base notes of sandalwood and white amber.  It’s got a lot going on, but it is very light and beautiful.

I love apple scents, so I knew I would love this scent before I even received it.  It smells like a perfume apple and greenery to me.  I really love it!  My fiancé says I have to get the perfume now LOL.  After loving Enchanted Apple so much and now this one…I want to try all of Candles by Victoria Apple scented ones possible! 

5 STARS!!!

I thought this would have a very light throw when being melted because it seems so light and pretty on a cold smell.  Nope…It scents my room and out into the hall beautifully.  So glad I have a candle coming in this scent!!

Candles by Victoria Scent of the Day - Pink Cupcake

This is described as a true vanilla cupcake scent.  It’s just that…and so much more!!  Everyone describes this as smelling just like a Funfetti Cake and they are exactly right.  It’s so amazing and yummy…makes me want to eat some cake right now!!  Good thing it’s just a wonderful scent because I’m on a diet Ha-ha!  I used a fourth of a Scent Shot and it’s very strong!  There’s not much else to say about this one except that everyone should try this one!

I would give it 4 to 4.5 stars

(Just because I have to be in the mood for a bakery type scent…I’m usually a fruity/perfume lover.  Also, I may like Pink Noel a little more.  Pink Noel is Pink Cupcake combined with Vanilla Bean Noel)

DEFINITE LARGE CANDLE PURCHASE!!  I will probably be getting this one in my next order (Possibly one of those adorable Sweet Treat Candles)

Candles by Victoria Scent of the Day -- Bella Swan

This scent is really really really good!!  It’s a highly popular and talked about scent on the CBV Message Boards and on YouTube reviews.  I do get the grape note people are talking about.  But it’s a good grape.  I usually hate all smells and flavors in grape because it reminds me of medicine.  I also smell the floral, which I usually do not like either.  However, I LOVE this one!  I guess these scents blended together make a perfect combination!  It’s very light and pretty, a great bedroom scent in my opinion (and even better when melted)!

The funny thing is I don’t think it includes any sort of grape scent.  It’s described as sweet and floral with a warm vanilla note.  I don’t particularly smell a Vanilla note, but that’s probably what helps tone down the floral scent to make me enjoy it so much! 

5 STARS!!!  This is supposed to be the way that Edward describes Bella (In the Twilight books I believe).  If that’s the way she smells, I can see why he wants to be around her so much!  LOL

I will be getting this in a large candle at some point down the road =)
