CBV Bath & Body -- Soaps by Melissa

CBV Bath and Body is a fairly new company who uses many of the most popular scents found on the Candles by Victoria Website. Melissa is the owner of the company, who also happens to be Victoria' daughter.  CBV Bath & Body had a surprise 24 hour sale, so I knew immediately I would have to order!  I am so glad I did.  First of all...Melissa's customer service is out of this world.  She is so sweet and always responds promptly anytime I have tried to contact her.  On my first order, I love this company already and I know I will be ordering again!!

BELLA SWAN 

This scent is one of the main reasons I wanted to place this order.  I have this in a scent shot and I am completely in LOVE with it.  It is a 3 ounce soap and probably my favorite shape out of the bunch.  Its described as being the way Edward describes Bella in the book.  Sweet & floral with a warm vanilla note. This picture does not do this soap justice!! It's a bright neon yellow with a peace sign done in purple.  It's also has glitter all over it.  It's beautiful and smells SOOOOOOOO GOOOOD!!

SEXY IN STILETTOS

Right After ordering this soap I realized how much I loved this one in Scent Shot form so I was extremely glad to have this one coming!!  This soap is 3.5 ounces and just so yummy!  I have a hard time trying to describe this one, but I can just say it smells sooooo pretty!  It's sweet and perfume like to me.  Probably in my top 3 favorite scents!  It's inspired from LanaIndiana on Youtube.  It's a beautiful red and white color with a black stripe going down the center.  On the top it has very pretty glitter & stars.  

PINK CUPCAKE

This one is soooo cute and makes my mouth water every time I smell it.  It smells just like Funfetti cake and vanilla frosting.  It makes me want to take a bite out of it so bad LOL.  My sister jokingly asked me if she could and I said I would let her try it but I don't want the awesomeness to go to waste!! :D  It's got glitter and real sprinkles on the top!!  I'm in love with it.  I also love the hot pink stripe going down the center....it just finishes the bar up perfectly.  Can't wait to use this one!! 

LOVE SHACK

This is one I simply got because I loved the look of it.  I have never tried this scent from Candles by Victoria before, but I know I want to now!  I have both of these individual scents but have never smelled them in this beautiful mixture!  This is a 4 ounce soap in a combination of Love Spell & Pink Sugar.  It's amazing and so awesome looking!  It's in a heart shape and it looks like it is dipped in real chocolate!  The bottom is a beautiful pink color and the top looks like the vanilla frosting.  =)

OTHER INFO

Like I've already said...CBV Bath & Body is amazing...from the soaps themselves to the outstanding customer service.  These soaps are made with wonderful things such as coconut oil, palm oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, & goats milk.  All things that are great for the skin.  I can tell just by touching them that they are very creamy and will be very moisturizing!  The creativity and time put into making these soaps is fantastic.  You can really tell how much time and care Melissa puts into making each one of them!  They are absolutely stunning!  

They also come packaged very nicely in bubble wrap and packing peanuts.  Melissa must have picked up this skill from Candle Man =).  After you undo them they are also inside little plastic wrappings with a ribbon.  These little touches are just added bonuses.  You don't need to worry about them cracking, crumbling, or breaking during shipping.  Give these soaps a try...you will not be disappointed with the appearance or quality!!

Candles by Victoria -- February 2012 Order -- First Impressions Part Two

Here is the second part of my February 1st order.  I have to say I did I wonderful job of picking scents this go around...with the help of all the suggestions from the wonderful people on the Candle's by Victoria Message Boards.  I am literally in LOVE with like 90% of the Scent Shots I received in this order.  I know a lot of these I will be getting in candles at some point.  Until then...I don't know what I am going to do without some of these awesome scents when they run out!! LOL

The scents are listed under the categories they are found at on the CBV Browser (Which is amazing I might add -- A fantastic way to keep all the scents you want to try organized):

FLORAL

Honeysuckle:  Never been a fan of florals….but for some reason I have always liked this scent from other candles I’ve smelled.  CBV blows those out of the water.  If you like Honeysuckle, you will love this one!  Says it’s blended with hints of rose, jasmine, & lilac.  I can also smell those…particularly the lilac and jasmine.  

EARTHY

Black Velvet (FREE SS):  It smells like powder and lavender to me.  I had to look it up to see what was all in it.  I saw it has patchouli in it among other scents I’ve never smelled before.  I’ve never smelled patchouli, but I know a lot of people either hate it or love it.  It smells kind of earthy and clean all it one.  It’s interesting… Not sure about this one yet.  

CANDLEMAN'S CLOSET

Rock that Vanilla:  I cannot say if this is a dupe or not, because I’ve never smelled the other one.  This smells really good though.  It smells like vanilla and earthy scents mixed together.  I think I like Vanilla Bean Noel better though.  I don’t find it to be strong, so think it would be good in a bedroom or bathroom. 

PERFUME/COLOGNE

Viva La Juicy:  Strong and nice.  Smells pretty darn close to my perfume I have, which is so cool!! 

DKNY Delicious:  This one smells of apple and greenery to me.  I really like it.  My fiancé says I have to get the perfume now.  LOL  After loving Enchanted Apple so much and now this one….I want to try all the Apple scented ones possible!  

Lovespell:  This one is okay….I don’t think it is exactly like Lovespell (however it may be when it has time to cure).  I kind of smell like a musky or green note to it?  This is my least favorite out of this category.

Pink Sugar:  It smells fruity and very sweet.  I can definitely smell the cotton candy and lemon in it.  I can’t remember what the perfume smells like….so I’m not sure if it’s exact.  Either way I like it a lot.  

Vanilla Bean Noel:  I like this one a lot!  It does smell like vanilla, but also very creamy and sweet.  I do kind of smell a little bit of caramel.  It seems like it would be a very calming scent; good for the bedroom.  

FRESH/CLEAN

Fresh Laundry:  I think this is by far my favorite clean scent out of the ones I have tried.  Smells like a laundry room or fresh dryer sheets.  I’ve also tried Clothesline Fresh from a previous order and loved that one as well!

Gain Island Fresh:  I love clean smells and this is no exception!  Smells just like the laundry detergent from what I can remember.  Smells like an ocean breeze and very clean.  I can smell the greenery and florals…and I love it!

HOUSE BLENDS

Tiffany-D:  Heck yea!!!  This one is great.  I can smell the melon and cotton candy instantly.  It’s a perfect combo.  I want this in a large candle now!

Sexy In Stilettos:  I haven’t a clue what’s all in this one, but it is AWESOME.  It’s very sweet and perfume like.  I can’t decide if I like this one or Bella Swan better.

Bella Swan:  I do get the grape note people are talking about.  But it’s a good grape.  I usually hate all smells and flavors in grape because it reminds me of medicine.  I also smell the floral, which I usually don’t like.  However, I love this one!  I guess these scents blended together make a perfect combination! 

Like I said...these scents are OUTSTANDING!!  I find myself always getting the box out just to smell them all from time to time.  I'm dying to get so many in large candles...

The favorites out of my entire 2nd order include:  Enchanted Apple, Sexy in Stilettos, Best Friends, Tiffany D, Bella Swan, Fresh Laundry, Pink Cupcake, Pink Noel, Gain Island Fresh, Pearberry Fun, & DKNY Delicious

Candles by Victoria -- February 2012 Order -- First Impressions Part One

Well, as soon as I heard about the February 1st sale I knew I had to order.  I had been plotting for a long time since my first order.  Since the 1st order I've learned so much about the available scents and had so many wonderful recommendations from girls from the Candles by Victoria Message Boards.  So with a list of about sixty scents I knew I had to try.....I narrowed it down to the following (I categorized them based on the categories they are found in on the CBV Browser):

BAKERY/FOOD

Pink Noel:  This is a mixture of Pink cupcake & VBN.  It smells pretty much just like

Pink Cupcake…but a little better I think.  It makes the vanilla note stand out even more.  It’s sooooo yummy!!! 

Pink Cupcake:  Just like everyone says….Funfetti cake.  It’s really awesome. 

Cinnabon:  Cinnamon is one of the only smells I can say that I cannot stand.  However, I really wanted to try this one because of how much others said they loved it.  I do love Cinnabon’s and cinnamon rolls, but I’m not a fan of this one.  It’s very strong.  I can smell a buttery scent to it as well.  I do like it more than any other cinnamon scent I have ever tried. 

Blueberry Cheesecake:  I’ve been dying to try this one after all the hype.  It is very strong and smells very sweet and creamy.  I do like it and it smells very tasty!  I want to try another Blueberry scent now.

Lemon Pound Cake:  This one is SOOO strong.  I can’t decide if I like it yet or not.  It’s definitely very lemony and has a cake smell to it.  Maybe it will be better with melting.  I’ve learned so far I’m not the hugest bakery fan.  I’m eager to try a different type of lemon scent now….maybe Lemon Vanilla?

Rice Crispy Treats:  I don’t like this one yet at all…I’m sure it just needs more time since everyone else seems to love it.  It just seems to be that generic scent I’ve smelled in a couple of the others scents.

UPDATE:  It’s been about a week since I first smelled it and I can already tell it is getting better.  I’m starting to smell more of the Vanilla and Marshmallow. 

Vanilla After Dark:  This one came very liquidy and it leaked all over the box.  It’s very sweet….I don’t really like it right now at all.  It doesn’t smell anything like vanilla to me, but smells kind of sour.

FRUITY

Best Friends:  I let my fiancé smell all of my scents and he was in love with like 95% of them.  He hated this one!  Well all I have to say is that he is CRAZY!!  It’s awesome.  It smells like a wonderful blend of every kind of berry in existence.  When I smell the bottom it also smells a little perfume like.

Fruit Loops:  Just like everyone else has said….If you want to know what this smells like stick your head in a box of Fruit Loops.  It’s dead on!!  You can smell the sugary sweetness, and each of the different scents of the different colored Fruit Loops.  I’m hungry…

Enchanted Apple:  A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!  Country Apple is probably one of my all time favorite scents from Bath & Body Works and this smells so much like it.  Don’t know what else to say about that…. =)

Raspberry Guava:  This one lives up to all the hype I’ve read.  It smells like fresh raspberries with something else.  I guess that’s the Guava part.  It’s a must have!

Pearberry Fun:  LOVE!!  It smells a lot like Pearberry from Bath and Body works, which also happens to be another Bath & Body Works favorite.  It’s really really good.

Candles by Victoria Scent of the Day -- Clothesline Fresh

Today I was completely in the mood for a straight up clean scent.  I immediately knew I wanted to melt Clothesline Fresh because it smells so AMAZING cold.  This is described as a Downy dew scent that is so fresh and clean.  Well....that description is exactly right.  It is not light at all in any way, it is very strong!  I only used a fourth of the Scent Shot and I can smell it all in my room and out in the hall.  It reminds me a lot of dryer sheets or like a Febreeze scent.  I would totally recommend this scent to anyone who loves clean scents.  

Overall, I would probably give this 4 to 5 stars depending on my mood.  I have to be in the right mood to really want a strong, clean scent. 

This is what a Tart/Scent Shot looks like out of the package.  It's a 2 ounce chunk of highly scented wax.  A wonderful thing to use in your tart warmers to get a quick strong burst of scent.  These are also a great way to sample scents to find out what you really like before committing to a candle! =)

Candles by Victoria Scent of the Day -- Day Dreams

Day Dreams was one of the Scent Shots I chose simply because I liked the name...I thought it sounded very pretty.  It can be found on the Candles by Victoria website under the category "House Blends".  Sniffing it cold is smells very clean and floral like.  The description of it includes Lavender, Lilac, and Jasmine.  I usually dislike strong floral scents (especially Lavender), but I instantly thought I liked this one.  It also has a grassy note to it as well.  I was very interested to see how it would smell when melted.

Today was a HUGE cleaning day so I wanted to smell something clean with a twist.  This is the 1st scent I thought of since it smells clean and floral all in one.  It's a really pretty blue color and smells even better when being melted.  Lavender is a scent that smells different from every company (most do it awful).  Victoria knows how to do it!  I was pleasantly surprised with Day Dreams and everyone in my house loved it!  Yay!  Jump on this fragrance now if you like Clean/Floral scents.

Overall, I would give Day Dreams a 3.5 to 4...

Candles by Victoria Scent of the Day -- Cantaloupe

This smells REALLLLY good on a cold sniff, so I was super excited to melt this one today!  Cantaloupe is one of my favorite fruits, but I don't know if it smells exactly like a fresh cut one.  However, it smells similar and I love the scent it is anyway.  The first time I melted it for a couple hours and it took awhile to get the scent in the room.  When it did start to circulate the room it was really good and kind of citrus-like.  If you like very light, fruity scents...this might be the one for you.  After melting the super strong Passion Fruit the other day it was a nice change.  I think it would be nice in a small bedroom or even a bathroom.  When I melted it for the second time that day I could not smell anything at all.  It could have just been me or maybe my fan was on too high.  I've read that you should never burn candles (and I assume it's the same way with scent shots) in a draft.

Overall, on a cold sniff I would give it a 4.  When I could actually smell it when I was melting it I would give it a 3 to 3.5

Candles by Victoria Scent of the Day -- Hawaiian Dream

AMAZING!!!  This has gotten so good as it has had time to cure!  I'm in love with this scent.  It's described as a fresh breeze coming from the islands to your door.  It just reminds me of straight up Hawaii when I smell it.  Not like I've ever been there, but it is what I totally imagine Hawaii to be like.  It says it is a blend of fresh tropical fruits and that is exactly what it is.  I could not say enough good things about this scent.  Definitely worthy of being bought in a large candle size! 

Overall, I would probably give it a 4.5 to a 5 (Just depends on my mood)

Candles By Victoria Scent of the Day -- Passion Fruit

I really enjoyed this one on the cold throw.  However, after I put it inside my tart burner it gave me the instant headache I 've heard everyone talk about, which made me really sad.  Some say they experience it only on certain scents or certain types of scents.  It could be because I was sitting right next to the tart warmer at my desk and I was just too close to it.  Or it maybe could be just a complete coincidence that I happened to start getting a headache at that time, because I haven't been feeling too well lately.  I will try it again soon when I'm not sitting right next to the warmer or when I can use it in my larger living room area.

I do like this scent though.  It smells like a mixed bowl of fruity goodness.  It was a lot stronger than I initially thought smelling it.  This was one of the scents I received in the sampler pack.  I picked the category "fruity" and then CBV picks 8 random fruity ones.  Fruity or tropical tends to be my favorite, so I decided to go with that one this time!

Overall, I would probably give this scent a 3 to a 3.5... =)

UPDATE:  After the first initial melting I waited several hours and tried again.  This time it was PERFECT.  Not too strong...did not give me a headache at all this time.  In fact...I love it more now than I have every loved it.  It smells fantastic.  It smells fruity, but almost reminds me of being at a beach party or something (LOL I don't know).  Now I would upgrade this scent score to a 4 at least, maybe a 4.5.  Its awesome!  Might be large candle worthy!!

Candles by Victoria Scent of the Day -- Fuzzy Navel

Fuzzy Navel -- First Ever Scent Shot Melting Experience!!

I did not like this at all when I first got it.  That is actually one of the reasons I decided to melt it today...because it was one of my least favorites.  I kind of wanted to test out the warmer without wasting the best ones lol.  It smells very fizzy, just like I remember the drink smelling.  It's a pretty intense peach and orange combination.  If you like strong and fizzy scents this would be right up your alley.  Unfortunately, I do not think I'll be much of a fan of the fizzy ones.  It did get better as it had time to cure though!

HOWEVER, I would highly recommend Fuzzy Navel just for the simple fact that EVERYONE seems to love Fizzy Pop which is a popular fizzy scent.  I have not tried that one yet, so I am not really sure.  It is still amazing to me how a chunk of wax can smell "fizzy" and kind of tickle your nose!!  LOL

Victoria is amazing at what she does and the scents she can come up with!!!  Just by melting my first scent shot I can already tell how addicted to them I'm going to be.  It's so fun going to my box of yumminess to decide which scent to melt for the day.  Overall, I would give this scent a 2.  But I think others would be in love with this scent.  In fact, I've seen many recommendations for it.  Not every scent will fit with each person's nose, and part of the fun is finding what your favorite ones are!!

Thanks Victoria!!!  I have a new addiction.....HAHAHA!! =)
